The Carian way in the south-western part of Turkey is one of the most scenic routes that the country has to offer. The hike goes along the magnificent coastal landscape which is divided into countless small and large peninsulas and through dense, green forests with white glowing rocks above the sea. During the hike you will experience a constant change in scenery that will show you the diversity of Turkey’s nature.
Highlights:

♦ Bay of Gökova - enjoy a fantastic view over the clear blue waters of the Aegean Sea
Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival
Transfer from Dalaman Airport (approx. 2 1/2 hours) to Bozburun on the peninsula of the same name (4 nights).
Day 2: Viewpoint to Bozburun
After a short transfer to a viewpoint above the village of Sögüt, the hike goes down to the fishing village of Sögüt, from here along the coast to the Cumhuriyet district. Then over a pass to the Bozburun Shipyard. The trek ends at the hotel in Bozburun.
Walking time: 5 hours
Day 3: Hike from Selimiye to Bozburun
Short transfer to Selimiye. A bathing break is offered immediately upon arrival in Selimiye or a coffee in one of the numerous cafes in the village. The trek starts from the coast of Selimiye village. The hike leads in a semicircle over a hill to Bozburun, but always with a unique view of the blue Aegean Sea.
Walking time: 3 1/2 hours
Day 4: From the ancient city of Phoenix to Taslica
The trek begins with a poorly preserved ancient city of the Carians. It is worth taking a look at the town on the hill and see the stone work of the Carians. Then it goes twice to viewpoints that offer magnificent views of the sea and small islands, even far to the island of Symi and Rhodos. The hike ends in the village of Taslica.

Day 5: From inland to the coast
Transfer to the farmhouse Bahceli. Through a terraced high valley, it goes up to a saddle from where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the sea. With a view over the deep Aegean Sea, a panoramic path leads you high above the coast. After reaching the coastal town Selimiye, transfer to Akyaka

Day 6: Bay of Gökova
From Akyaka, the hike leads you mainly through the extensive old forests along the coastal slopes. You will enjoy the beautiful views of the bay of Gökova. From a restaurant by the sea, transfer back to Akyaka.
Walking time: 4 1/2 hours
Day 7: Villages of Mugla
At the end, you can expect a delightful hike through the forests and villages of Mugla. After transferring from the hotel to the village of Yenice, you'll walk through dense Styrax forests and pine woods, reaching a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Gökova Bay. A winding path will then lead you down to Akyaka. (Walking time: 6 hours).
Day 8: Departure
Transfer to the airport (about 1 hour) and return journey.
