Bieszczady Mountains, with their highest peak Tarnica (1346 m) are the part of the Eastern Carpathian Mountains of Poland. This wonderful corner of Poland is considered to be a truly wild frontier once inhabited by Orthodox Lemkos who left unique examples of their wooden architecture and traditions. Bieszczady’s phenomenal nature, mountains covered by oak and beech forests and alpine meadows create an ideal destination for hikers and adventure seeking travelers. A day’s walk is between 4-7 hours moving at an easy pace.

Itinerary:

Day 1. Arrival to Kraków
After arrival in Krakow you will have a chance to take a guided tour of the city, including: Krakow Old Town, Royal Castle Hill, Jewish Quarter. Overnight stay in Krakow.

Day 2. Wetlina
Transfer to Wetlina in the Eastern Carpathians.From here you can take a moderate hike to a forest lake or take a ride witha narrow-gauge rail along the Solinka Valley.Overnight stay in Wetlina.
Hike: 13 km, Approximately 3 hours, +645m / -645m

Day 3. Jaslo and Okraglik Peaks
Today you’ll take a trail ascending to Jaslo (1153m) and Okraglik (1101 m).You will hike along well maintained and marked trails through dense forests and alpine meadows.Overnight stay in Wetlina.
Hike: 18 km, Approximately 4 hours, +885m / -885m  

Day 4. Carpathian Meadows
Today’s route follows a trail through two Carpathian meadows (Poloniny) named Polonina Carynska and Polonina Wetlinska.Overnight stay in Ustrzyki Gorne.
Hike: 21 km, Approximately 6 hours, +1300m / -1300m 

Day 5. Kremenaros Peak
Today our hike will take us to the peak of “Kremenaros” (1221 metres) located on the borders of Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine.Overnight stay in Ustrzyki Gorne
Hike: 14 km, Approximately 5 hours, +730m / -940m

Day 6. Tarnica and Krzemien Peaks
This day’s stage reaches Tranica (1346 m), the highest peak in the area and Krzemien (1335 metres) close to the Ukrainian border.Overnight stay in Muczne.
Hike: 16 km, Approximately 6 hours, +935m / -860m 

Day 7. Day at leisure in Bieszczady Mountains
You can either spend a relaxing day in the settlement of Muczne or take a moderate walk in the area of the San valley river to a European bisonreserve.Overnight stay in Muczne.
Hike: 17.5 km, Approximately 3 hours, +450m / -460m

Day 8. Return home
Morning transfer to the Krakow airport.
